Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola addressed and clarified his earlier comment, “I want to harm myself,” which he made when asked about a visible cut on his nose during a media interaction. Guardiola explained that his remark was not intended to trivialize the serious issue of self-harm.
In a statement on Instagram, Pep Guardiola said he didn’t want to ‘make light of a very serious issue’ and said he was caught off-guard by the question from the scribe towards the end of a long day at the office.
“My answer was in no way intended to make light of this very serious issue,” Guardiola stated. He emphasized his awareness of the widespread struggles many individuals face with mental health issues and expressed his respect and sensitivity towards those affected.

Guardiola, who was visibly frustrated after Manchester City wasted a three-goal lead by conceding thrice in the second half, came up with a bizarre explanation for his physical appearance.
